Fun Fact: The Star-Spangled Banner, our beloved national anthem penned by Francis Scott Key, was originally written as a poem! Key observed the attack on Fort McHenry during the War of 1812 and wrote the poem that would later be put to music. It was chosen as our national anthem in 1931.
