Celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness with Flowers

breast cancer awarenessThis October marks the 30th anniversary of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Since Houston is home to M.D. Anderson, one of the world’s pre-eminent cancer research and care centers, Breen’s Florist feels especially passionate about showing our support.

We want to encourage our customers to show their support by giving a gift of pink flowers to the women they know who are, or who have undergone breast cancer surgery and/or treatment. We’ve come up with a few of our favorite pink floral arrangements. We think they are the perfect way to show your support during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Consider showing your support by delivering flowers to a cancer patient in the hospital. Imagine how hard it is for someone who is suffering from breast cancer, being all alone day after day. Those hours when visitors have gone and they have to go back to their treatments must be very difficult.

A beautiful bouquet of our “Twilight” Breen’s Signature Roses is sure to wow anyone who receives them. The color of the rose coordinates with our official color scheme. We love this rose because it opens so wide and has such a spectacular color. We adThe cd wax flowers as an accent. The combination of these sensational roses and the wax flowers is guaranteed to make jaws drop.

With Gypsy Rose, you get roses in different shades of pink and peach. The combination of different varieties of roses and different pink shades make for a dramatic arrangement that will have an enormous impact on a grateful recipient.

Pinkie Pie is a delightful arrangement that combines roses, spray roses, and Alstromeria in different shades of pink. We add greenery for an accent and place the entire bouquet in a clear glass vase.

The color pink has become synonymous with breast cancer awareness ever since the Breast Cancer Foundation appropriated the pink ribbon as its symbol. By buying pink flowers, you’ll highlight the importance of this national awareness observance.
