Although the white and yellow English variety may be your first thought when you hear the word “daisy”, the gerbera daisy is actually the most common type of daisy used in floral design, for many reasons. They have thick, sturdy stems which make them perfect for cut flower bouquets, and they also last for a long period of time after being harvested. You can’t argue with the festive appearance of the gerbera either. This cheerful bloom grows in a wide spectrum of colors – in fact, the only shades you will not find in this flower family are blues and purples. Gerberas make gorgeous stand-alone bouquets, as well as blending well with other iconic spring blooms such as roses and hydrangea.
